Coffee with the Principal – 11/20

At this mornings coffee with the principal, Mrs. Carr went over several items:

She is working closely with Deacon Dan to set up a new web site for the school separate from the parish.

She said while we are currently working from the old hand book, the new one will be available by the first week in December.

The 3 recent open houses did not generate as much foot traffic as she would have liked however it has resulted in a couple of new students in various grades signing up with St. Agatha’s, and potential for a few more who are coming in to meet with her based on those events.

She touched on the agreements St. Agatha’s has with various high schools, where our kids can take the placement test in 6th grade or higher and if they pass, hold their place in those schools until 9th grade.

She mentioned the various scholarships given to graduating 8th grade students of St. Agatha’s.

Together with Ms Perez she is rolling out a kindness theme for the school for the coming year starting in K0.

She’s planning to bring the principal of Fontbonne Academy in to speak to the middle school girls.

Recently the principal of Notre Dame visited and spoke with the 8th grade girls.

She’s in talks with someone to come in and speak to the middle school students about the DARE program.

She wants to ensure that everyone is getting her constant contact emails, as she puts slot of time ensuring that they are as comprehensive as possible.   She can see that the percentage of people who open her email and the attached links are down.  If anyone is not receiving them, please notify the office so you can be added.

Her next event in January with be evening pizza with the principal around 6/6:30 to facilitate those who cannot do mornings.

She finished by saying her door is always open for anyone who may have a concern or issue they would like addressed.
